It has been dubbed as the “biggest blunder in recent auction history” and collectors from around the world cannot help but pity the goof-up that unfolded recently at a major auction in California.

A car that symbolised the rise of the Nazis in the 1930s was set to go under the hammer by auction house RM Sotheby’s but the sale was mired in a controversy nobody could have expected before it took them all by surprise.
