The Indian Express reported that nearly 300 foreign students have been asked to sign an undertaking that they will not approach the media or police without prior permission of university officials. The students were forced to sign the undertaking after students from several South Asian countries complained of poor accommodation that was given to them.
However, instead of providing better facilities, the university threatened students of expulsion for engagement with any outer agency. Astonishingly, out of these 300, 35 students from Afghanistan were shifted to a Muslim-dominated area of Lal Darwaja, without their consent.
