Marseille boss Igor Tudor: “Eric Bailly sanction is excessive.”
According to L’Équipe, Marseille coach Igor Tudor will have to do without the services of defender Eric Bailly and wing-back Jonathan Clauss for their Coupe de France match against Rennes on Friday. The Croatian was not best pleased when asked about the seven match suspension of Bailly for red card in the previous round of the competition.
He said, “I believe the punishment is excessive, but the decision has been made and there’s nothing we can do about it. We have the resources to play differently, we’ve already played two matches without him, tomorrow we’ll play another, and then there will only be four matches left.”

Bailly has been suspended for seven matches by the French Football Federation’s disciplinary committee, following his red card in a previous Coupe de France match against Hyères. Despite these absences, Tudor is confident that his team has the ability to qualify for the next round, but a strong Rennes side off the back of a confidence-boosting win against PSG stand in their way.
