Official | Ruslan Malinovskyi joins Marseille from Atalanta
Ukrainian international midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi (29) has joined Marseille on a six-month loan, with a mandatory purchase option. The option is reportedly set at €10m plus €3m in potential bonuses, depending on whether OM qualify for next season’s Champions League. The 29-year-old was set to join Marseille last summer from Atalanta, but the French side couldn’t meet the Serie A outfit’s high demands of between €20m and €25m.

Malinovskyi will be tasked to fill the Amine Harit-shaped void in midfield. The Moroccan international suffered a serious season-ending knee injury that prevented him from playing the World Cup with the Atlas Lions. According to L’Equipe, OM’s administrative staff are trying to make sure OM’s new number 18 is officially registered in time to play against Troyes this Wednesday for Ligue 1 gameweek 18.
