Liberty of London has opened its first dedicated store on Sloane Street. The store is a showcase for unique and contemporary design and takes its cue from the architecture and heritage of Liberty – evoking a distinct sense of exotic glamour and decadent opulence. The two-storey store has just opened and provides a stunning canvas for the men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, accessories, scarf, swimwear and jewellery lines.

Launched in 2005, Liberty of London is part of Marylebone Warwick Balfour Group Plc. Under the creative direction of Tamara Salman, Liberty of London is a luxury accessories brand which draws on Liberty’s heritage whilst injecting a modern, contemporary twist. In the new boutique you’ll find anything from a cashmere scarf to a python handbag.

Echoing the legacy of the store’s founder Arthur Liberty, the collections retain the spirit of creative adventure and experimentalism. Taking inspiration from the Company’s fin-de-siècle archives, the design studio collaborates with the best European manufacturers applying a level of workmanship normally only associated with couture.

Now in its third year, handbags and accessories lie at the core of the brand, together with scarves, stationery, jewellery, swimwear, lingerie, menswear and a home collection.

Today Liberty of London is present in over 100 of the most prestigious multi-brand boutiques and department stores throughout the world. The new store at 179 Sloane Street is housed has a light eclectic feel featuring a spiral staircase, white stucco walls taken from Liberty heritage print designs, combined with modern touches such as Sixites-inspired chandeliers and a statement curtain of acrylic beads that runs down from the double-height ceiling. Special features include Orient Express train seat-style changing rooms with deep purple velvet curtains and benches.
