Dwayne Peel’s men controlled much of the first period and went into the break 10-3 ahead thanks to Steff Evans’ try and Leigh Halfpenny’s penalty, but they were made to battle in the second half.

Siya Masuku had kicked a penalty for the South Africans prior to the interval before Louis van der Westhuizen’s converted try levelled matters after 43 minutes.
The Cheetahs then went ahead as Daniel Kasende touched down but the Scarlets hit back almost immediately through Johnny McNicholl.
Both teams could not be separated going into the final quarter but Halfpenny scored the decisive penalty with 15 minutes to go as the hosts claimed yet another win in the competition.
Dragons continue good evening for Welsh rugby
The Dragons sealed their first victory in this year’s Challenge Cup following a superb 21-15 success over Pau on Friday.
It was a tight game throughout as Daniel Ikpefan’s try was cancelled out by Ashton Hewitt’s score after 13 minutes.
However, the Welsh region enjoyed a fine second quarter and went into the interval 15-7 in front thanks to Will Reed’s penalty and Max Clark’s effort.
Pau started the second period well, though, and Vincent Pinto crossed the whitewash to give them hope, but the visitors deservedly sealed the win.
Penalties from Reed and then JJ Hanrahan made sure of the result, despite the French outfit earning a losing bonus-point through Axel Desperes’ three-pointer.
