Maxwel Cornet defends Lyon boss Sylvinho: “We will need some time for the mayonnaise to kick in.”

Speaking to reporters after scoring in a frustrating 2-2 draw with Brest, Lyon winger Maxwel Cornet appeared to come out in support for his manager Sylvinho.

“We would all like to see a strong Lyon. We are working to that end. We need to allow for some time for the mayonnaise to kick in. We have a new coach who is trying things out. It is up to us to respond well on the pitch. It is true that we maybe need some time to adapt to the system he is demanding of us, but we have the players on the pitch who are capable of making a difference at any moment, regardless of what position each player plays in… We must be more like killers in front of the goal and score more goals than the opponent. We did not lose. There are still matches to come. We do not have time to gamble. We will have to rest to rediscover victory soon.”
