Giving negotiations a chance the Supreme Court on Friday ordered mediation to find a solution to the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute case often referred to as Ayodhya case.

The five-member SC bench headed by CJI Justice Ranjan Gogoi have mandated retired Supreme Court judge Justice Fakkir Mohamed Ibrahim Kalifulla, Spiritual leader Sir Sir Ravi Shankar and senior lawyer Sriram Panchu for the task and have given them eight weeks time a “permanent solution” for the long standing dispute.

The mediator will be based in Uttar Pradesh’s Faizabad district and the processes will be in-camera

While restricting the media from publishing the details of the proceedings, the SC has said that mediators can take a final call on this.
