Cows are revered in India. They are a part of a religious belief which makes its followersnurture the animal as theirmother. In the current scenario, the so-called cow followers or vigilantes as they would like to be called are even resorting to killing people on suspicionof hurting their religious sentiments. Meanwhile, there are those who may not be Hindus, but their reverence for cows is no less than anyone else.

A similar case came to the fore from Madhya Pradesh, where a Muslim woman, named, Mehrunisa Khan was disowned by her family because she rejected their demand to give up her cow shelter. She was even threatened by her husband and in-laws but she did not accept their demands.
