European Championships 2015 in Bulgaria and Italy
CEV President André Meyer announced on Saturday afternoon that Bulgaria and Italy will host the 2015 CEV Volleyball European Championship.
Those two federations beat another candidature from the other side of the continent – Finland and Estonia.
This tournament will take place in five venues, which are Varna, Plovdiv and Sofia in Bulgaria plus Messina and Catania in Italy. The final stage of the competition will be held in the splendid “Armeec Arena” in Bulgaria’s capital city that this past July also hosted the finals of the FIVB World League.
Let’s remind. Men’s European Championships 2013 will be held in Poland and Denemark.
The 16 participating teams were assigned to the four preliminary Pools as follows (matches to be played through September 20-22, 2013):
Pool A in Odense (DEN): Denmark, Italy, Belarus, Greece/Belgium
Pool B in Gdansk (POL): Poland, Slovakia, France, Turkey/Latvia
