Referee Jason Ayers Comments on WWE Title Match At Backlash

July 23, 2020 Off By EveAim

As seen during last night’s WWE Backlash PPV Event, the WWE Title Match between WWE Champion AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura ended in a somewhat controversial finish when no superstar was able to answer the referee’s ten count after both superstar nailed their adversary with a low-blow.
The assigned official in the match, WWE referee Jason Ayers recently took to Twitter and explain why he ruled the match a no-contest. You can check out his tweet below:

While the @WWE #WWEChampionship match between @AJStylesOrg & @ShinsukeN was no DQ, neither competitor was able to continue, as evidenced by their inability to answer my 10-count. As much as I hated to see it end that way, the safety of the competitors is paramount. #wwebacklash
