Backstage Update on Great Khali’s Return & Pairing with Jinder

As previously reported, WWE brought back the Great Khali as a way to help Jinder Mahal get over with the Indian audience. WWE thought that Jinder Mahal being WWE Champion can help him expand WWE in the Indian Market. Unfortunately, Jinder Mahal could not do it by himself and he hasn’t taken off in India as expected. It is said that he isn’t all that popular, whereas Khali is extremely well known in that country.
WWE feels that their revenue potential in India is enormous due to the sheer population of the country. However, when it comes to the WWE network and ticket sales as well as merchandise sales, the goals are never reached as the Indian population generally doesn’t shell out dollars for sporting/entertainment events unless it’s for cricket. 
Finally, potential for the WWE Network in India is extremely limited. With all of this factors being considered, pairing The Great Khali with Jinder Mahal may be a last ditch effort before WWE changes their plans for Jinder Mahal.
