*Update (6:35AM EDT)*

Ariel Helwani has updated the situation, posting on Twitter this morning that CM Punk has been discharged from the hospital with a clean bill of health, suffering no injuries in his fight with Mike Jackson at UFC 225 last night.

UFC President Dana White also confirmed in the UFC 225 post-show press conference that a LOT of the competitors at last night’s pay-per-view were shuttled to the hospital, so it would appear this was just a case of the company/competitors being proactive and getting checked for concussions and other injuries.

CM Punk suffered no injuries in his fight tonight, I’m told. He’s been discharged from the hospital.

*Original Story*

As previously reported, CM Punk was unsuccessful in his second ever professional fight tonight, losing to Mike Jackson via unanimous decision in his hometown of Chicago, IL.

While the former WWE Champion did go the distance, even landing a takedown in the first round to give his massive legion of fans at the United Center some hope, it was Jackson who dominated most of the second and third rounds, connecting with literally dozens of strikes with very little resistance or proper guard technique from his opponent.

According to MMA journalist Ariel Helwani, Punk was transported to a local area hospital after the fight, and received a facial CT scan to assess the damage he hook in the bout. We’ll keep you updated on his condition as more information becomes available.

Say what you will, but I couldn’t have taken this beating and gotten back up, much less paid respect to my opponent after the fight. Well fought, Punk. #UFC225 pic.twitter.com/HSD5a5DgTr
