WWE Backlash Attendance Numbers
The announced attendance for tonight’s WWE Backlash pay-per-view at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey was 14,724. Just for reference, the WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view in 2016 that took place in the same building drew an announced 15,963.
AJ Styles Busted Open the Hard Way
WWE Champion AJ Styles was accidentally busted open the hard way during his match with Shinsuke Nakamura at WWE Backlash. The “Phenomenal One” tried to defend himself from his opponent’s signature Kinshasa knee strike by whipping a chair at Nakamura, but the foreign object ended up bouncing back and catching him in the face. Styles suffered a pretty nasty gash on his left cheek because of the botched spot.
Just in case you’re wondering whether or not you need to run out and watch the third entry in the Styles/Nakamura story, let me save you a bit of time, The match ends in a draw because both men kick each other in the balls simultaneously. Yes, seriously.
… and a CHAIR has been added to this NO DISQUALIFICATION match between @AJStylesOrg & @ShinsukeN!
