Arsène Wenger recommends that Rennes hire Gilles Grimandi as Sporting Director
L’Équipe report that Arsène Wenger has recommended to the Pinault family, who own Ligue 1 side Rennes, that they hire ex-Arsenal scout Gilles Grimandi as their Sporting Director.
Nicolas Holveck is still expected to become SRFC’s Executive Director General, but Rennes also want to hire a Sporting Director alongside Holveck.
Wenger, who Rennes initially asked to become their new president to replace Olivier Létang, but the ex-Arsenal boss rejected the offer.
Internally, SRFC are also looking at Florian Maurice, the current Head of Scouting at Lyon, for the role. A third individual, who has a prior connection to Rennes, is also being considered for the role, but their identity has yet to filter through.
