AS Nancy in desperate youth prospect fire-sale to secure Ligue 2 status

As reported by RMC, AS Nancy president Jean-Michel Roussier was in Paris yesterday in an attempt to conclude the sale of two promising youngsters to Ligue 1 champions PSG.

The urgency in Roussier’s deal-making comes from the fact that the French football financial watchdog, the DNCG, announced the relegation of ASNL to the French 3rd division last week owing to a lack of a balanced budget.

ASNL have a short window in which to sell players for enough money so as to avoid this relegation, remain in Ligue 2 and appeal the DNCG decision successfully.

The two youngsters in question are 15-year-old Warren Bondo and 18-year-old Bilel Hassaini. Both players are coming to the end of their contracts with ASNL but Roussier is hoping to negotiate considerable youth development indemnities in a bid to balance the club’s books.

Luis Ferrer is currently negotiating these deals on the Paris side following the departure of Antero Henrique.

Leonardo has yet to give the green light for PSG to conclude these signings.

In the meantime, Nancy are furious with the situation they find themselves in, after Sevilla refused to pay them the sell-on percentage fee they feel that they are entitled to following the sale of Clément Lenglet to Barcelona.
