SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The Augustana wrestling team heads to Fargo, North Dakota, this weekend to compete in its second dual of the season against the North Dakota State Bison. The dual is set to start at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

This is the Viking’s fifth-consecutive weekend on the road while the Bison are already hosting their third home dual of the season.

North Dakota State comes into its matchup with Augustana at 2-2 with dual wins against Cal State Bakersfield and Indiana. The two losses came to No. 25 Purdue and No. 16 Northwestern.

The Bison have three ranked wrestlers in their probable starting lineup against Augustana, redshirt senior Cam Sykora in No. 8 at 133 pounds, redshirt senior Andrew Fogarty is No. 9 at 165 pounds and redshirt sophomore Brandon Metz is No. 25 at 285 pounds.

Last weekend at the UNK Younes Hospitality Open, Brandon Carroll took home the 133-pound title and captured Augustana’s ninth individual championship of the season through three tournaments.

In addition to nine first-place finishers, five Vikings have already racked up double-digit win totals this season, Hunter Burnett (12), Taylor Jeffries (12), Jacob Tvinnereim (11), Cade Mueller (10 – Unattached) and Jack Huffman (10).
