Daniel Cormier Calls Out Brock Lesnar After History Making Win at UFC 230; “When You Come Bring That WWE Title”
Saturday night at the world’s most famous arena, Madison Square Garden, 39-year-old Daniel Cormier submitted “Black Beast” Derrick Lewis in the main event of UFC 230, becoming the first man to ever successfully defend both the UFC Heavyweight and UFC Light Heavyweight Championships.
D.C. wasted no time in calling out WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar, a former heavyweight title holder in his own right, and potentially the next man in line for a shot at the gold. A dream fight between the two has been talked about for quite some time, but now that Cormier has successfully defending his championships heading into 2019, that dream is much, much closer to becoming a reality.
“Brock Lesnar, when you come bring that brand new WWE title,” the champ said, moments after his victory. “I feel like being the WWE Champion too. Let’s go! Let’s Go Brock! Bring that belt with you if you come to my house.”
Lesnar is currently in the USADA testing pool and will be clear to return to the octagon in early January. Some have targeted UFC 233 on January 26th as a potential target, giving D.C. enough time to properly heal and train for his next defense. That date is also significant because it would be the day before the 2019 WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view, and will go head-to-head with NXT Takeover: Phoenix.

UFC President Dana White recently stated that he had no problems with Lesnar bring the WWE Universal Championship with him to the octagon, although he didn’t believe that was something Vince McMahon would allow.
