Did WWE Just Spoil the 2019 HOF Headliner? Update on Dragon Lee

The Royal Rumble pay-per-view will be taking place this Sunday night, and that show will officially kick off the road to WrestleMania 35. It’s also right around this time when WWE announces the headlining attraction for the Hall of Fame. There have been several names rumored to enter the Hall of Fame this year, but only one person will lead the class of 2019. It has been reported in the past that the likes of The Rock and Batista have been contacted for spots in the Hall of Fame this year, but it appears now that the company may be going with somebody different. If a promotional email from WWE sent out earlier today turns out to be factual, then one of the most legendary wrestlers in the business will take his spot in the HOF this year.
Episodes of the old WWF Superstars show were added to the WWE Network earlier today. To promote the added content, WWE sent out a message listing some of the competitors that can be seen on the show. Interestingly, the message lists The Undertaker as a WWE Hall of Famer. This is in no way a confirmation of “The Deadman” going into the Hall of Fame this year, and it could just be a small error on WWE’s part. However, The Undertaker is arguably one of the most deserving Hall of Fame inductees that the company could possibly choose at the moment. It will be interesting to see whether or not The Undertaker’s HOF confirmation is announced during Raw tonight or during the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, but expect the headlining Hall of Fame inductee to be revealed soon.

CMLL competitor Dragon Lee is perhaps one of the best Luchaors in the wrestling business right now. Numerous promotions are said to be interested in signing Dragon Lee to a contract. However, PWInsider says that reports of Major League Wrestling entering a bidding war to sign Lee are untrue. The report notes that MLW is free to use CMLL talent, but MLW CEO Court Bauer is choosing not to book them on his shows as a result of the promotion’s relationship with Ring of Honor. Dragon Lee is not scheduled to appear on any MLW shows going forward. The belief now is that Bauer will strictly be booking Luchadors who are either working AAA or independently on MLW shows for the foreseeable future.
