Doctor who accused Zlatan Ibrahimovic of doping backtracks

Ulf Karlsson made headlines this week when he claimed that he thought that Zlatan Ibrahimovic had been doping during his time at Juventus: “Zlatan put on 10kg during six months when he was at Juventus. I think he was doping.”

The Swedish doctor has since backtracked on his comments, writing a letter to media outlet TT in order to apologise to Zlatan:

“I expressed myself in an imprecise and unfair way on Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Now I understand that what I said could have been interpreted as it was. I am profoundly sorry. It was not my intention and for that reason I ask Zlatan for forgiveness and any one else who was offended by my insinuations.”
