Dorset authorities report on Emiliano Sala’s cause of death
Dorset authorities have announced the findings of their investigation into Emiliano Sala’s cause of death after the Argentine’s plane, taking the Nantes striker to Wales to complete a move to then Premier League club Cardiff City, crashed in the English Channel back in 2019.
As reported by RMC, Sala was unconscious at the time of the crash due to carbon monoxide poisoning, possibly caused by the aircraft’s exhaust system and he died of serious head and chest injuries sustained in the crash.
The body of the player was found two weeks after the accident in the wreckage of the small aircraft at a depth of 67 metres. The body of the 59-year-old pilot, David Ibbotson, has never been found.
