HBK On Advice Roddy Piper Gave Him And A Problem WWE Has Today
Former WWE, WCW and TNA writer Vince Russo interviewed WWE Hall Of Famer Shawn Michaels for his new PodcastOne.com show, “The Brand.” During his appearance on the show, HBK spoke about some advice he received from fellow WWE Hall Of Fame “Rowdy” Roddy Piper.
Michaels said that Piper told him early in his career that the follow-up to a main event feud in wrestling is sometimes more important than the main event itself. HBK noted that this is “something that the WWE clearly struggles with today.”
In addition to the Piper story, HBK also explained why he never listened to fans when it came to his matches. “I don’t listen to fans … fans listen to me. I’m the wrestler. They don’t tell me what to do.”
HBK continued, “Nobody is going to tell me if my match was good – I TELL ME if my match was good!”
