KUSHIDA Discusses NXT Run, Angle Calls Cena The Best, Grilling JR
During NXT Takeover: New York earlier this month, it was announced that KUSHIDA had signed a contract with WWE and will be working on NXT soon. KUSHIDA spent years making a name for himself in New Japan Pro Wrestling, so it was definitely a risk for him to leave the promotion that he called home for years to take on a completely different venture. The new NXT Superstar commented on his run in NXT so far in a message on Twitter (which has been translated in English). KUSHIDA talked about leaving his home country to come to America. He noted that there’s been some challenges but he is now getting used to his life as a WWE Superstar. KUSHIDA will make his official in-ring debut during NXT this Wednesday night.

Who is the greatest WWE Superstar of all time? Wrestling fans likely have several different answers for that very question. For WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle, that person is 16-time world champion John Cena. Angle posted a throwback image of himself and Cena on his Instagram account. He praised Cena for what he has been able to accomplish in WWE before calling him the very best that there has ever been. Angle wrestled Cena in his debut main roster match on SmackDown back in 2002. Before Angle retired at WrestleMania 35 earlier this month, fans petitioned for Cena to wrestle Angle in his farewell match. Although that match never did take place, Cena and Angle still have plenty of other battle that WWE fans can look back on fondly.
It was announced a couple of weeks ago that WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross and Conrad Thompson will be launching a new podcast soon. The show will be called “Grilling JR,” and it will feature Thompson going through Ross’ long history in the wrestling business. Given that Ross has worked for WCW, WWE, and several other promotions, fans are excited to hear what stories Ross has to share with fans. Thompson has announced that the first episode of the podcast is coming this week. The first topic of the show will be about Ross leaving WCW to join WWE. Thompson is currently taking questions for the show online. Thompson has found success with his podcasts with Bruce Prichard and Eric Bischoff, so this may be one show that wrestling fans won’t want to miss.
HEADS UP!
“Grilling JR” is headed your way this week. Our first topic? When Jim left WCW for the WWF!
