NDSU Heads to Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational on Dec. 1-2

North Dakota State (0-3, 0-2 #Big12WR) is scheduled to participate in the 36th annual Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational on Friday, Dec 1, and Saturday, Dec. 2, in the Las Vegas Convention Center. Teams sending wrestlers include Air Force, American, #12 Arizona State, Army, Binghamton, Brown, Bucknell, Cal Poly, Cal Baptist, Cal State Bakersfield, #19 Central Michigan, Columbia, #14 Cornell, Drexel, Duke, Eastern Michigan, #23 Edinboro, Embry Riddle, Fresno State, Harvard, Iowa State, Kent State, #8 Minnesota, Navy, Nebraska-Kearney, #13 Nebraska, North Carolina, North Idaho, #16 Northern Iowa, #2 Ohio State, #21 Oklahoma, Oregon State, #24 Pitt, #20 Purdue, #25 Stanford, #9 Michigan, Michigan State, Utah Valley, #10 Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Virginia, Western Wyoming, #18 Wisconsin and Wyoming. North Dakota State will also send wrestlers to the Dragon Open hosted by Minnesota State Moorhead on Saturday, Dec. 2. Action gets underway at 9 a.m.

North Dakota State is scheduled to host No. 19 Central Michigan (1-1, 0-0 MAC) at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10 in the Scheels Center. NDSU wrestling will recognize the 1988 and 1998 NCAA Division II national championship teams during the weekend.

No. 3-ranked Oklahoma State won nine of 10 matches including two falls and three tech falls to defeat North Dakota State 40-3 in a Big 12 Conference dual on Nov. 26 before 1,511 spectators in Scheels Center at the Sanford Health Athletic Complex. NDSU 12th-ranked 157-pounder Clay Ream recorded the lone win for the Bison with a 3-2 decision over Jonce Blaylock.

NDSU Receives Votes Toward Top 25
North Dakota State received 1 point toward the USA Today/NWCA Division I Wrestling Coaches poll released Nov. 28. The Bison are one of five Big 12 Conference teams in the rankings including No. 3 Oklahoma State, No. 16 South Dakota State, No. 17 Northern Iowa and No. 21 Oklahoma. Nine opponents on NDSU schedule are ranked in top 25. The Bison are tied for 38th in the TrackWrestling/Resilite rankings. North Dakota State was tied for 46th in the WIN Magazine Tournament Power Index.

Individually, on the InterMat.com (Nov. 28) rankings, Cam Sykora is No. 16 at 133 pounds and Clay Ream is No. 12 at 157 pounds. In TheOpenMat.com (Nov. 28) rankings, Clay Ream is No. 7 at 157 pounds and Andrew Fogarty is No. 18 at 165 pounds. In the Asics/Flowrestling rankings (Nov. 27), Clay Ream is No. 10 at 157 pounds and Andrew Fogarty is No. 19 at 165 pounds. In the Track Wrestling (Nov. 28) rankings, Cam Sykora is No. 11 at 133 pounds, Clay Ream is No. 10 at 157 pounds and Andrew Fogarty is No. 15 at 165 pounds.
