RMC report that Ligue 1 champions PSG have agreed personal terms with 24-year-old central midfielder Leandro Paredes (Zenit).
On Wednesday, agent Marcelo Simonian, who is acting as an intermediary on the potential deal, travelled to Doha in Qatar for discussions with Sporting Director Antero Henrique.
Pablo Sabbag, Paredes’ agent, was also in Doha for two days this week with Marcelo Simonian.
PSG have found an agreement in principle with the Argentine over a 4.5 year contract – discussions have also been had regarding potential contract bonuses and the possibility of an extension trigger by an extra season. The 24-year-old wants to join PSG and has informed his loved ones of this fact.
Negotiations are currently ongoing with Zenit over a possible transfer. This is not the first time that PSG have been in touch with their Russian colleagues, but all previous discussions had been occurring through intermediaries. Now, Les Parisiens are negotiating directly with Zenit.
The French outlet denies Sky Italia reports that PSG have submitted a €35m bid for Paredes, claiming that no formal offer has yet been made. They also indicate that Zenit are proving incredibly demanding in negotiations, which has put off Chelsea, who had also been in talks.
Paris United suggest that Zenit are asking for €50m, which is a price neither PSG nor Chelsea want to pay.
As for Julian Weigl, contrary to reporting earlier today from Le Parisien, our colleagues at RMC claim that Dortmund have recently informed PSG yet again that he is not for sale.
Paris United further this sentiment on Weigl, adding that Thomas Tuchel has met with the German’s entourage and that the Dortmund man has agreed to join PSG. But at the moment, Dortmund do not want to let him go, despite the player’s representatives actively petitioning BVB to let him.
