Remi Garde rejects Lorient job, Hubert Fournier maintains interest
Another day, another man turns down the opportunity to become the new manager of 20th placed Ligue 1 side FC Lorient.
Remi Garde confirmed that he had rejected an offer from Les Merlus President Loic Féry to replace the recently sacked Sylvain Ripoll.
Another man that met with Lorient reps this week, former Lyon boss Hubert Fournier, confirmed to Ouest France that he was potentially interested in the job:
“I have nothing to hide. I was invited by the Lorient president to discuss the current situation of his club. As we speak, no decision has been made. I believe that the representatives will meet with other managers. It is an interesting challenge. This is a team that deserves to be higher than 20th.”
