Ronda Rousey Claims She Went Off-Script In RAW Promo: “Wrestling Is Made Up, None Of Those **** Can Touch Me”

The Ronda Rousey story has reached a new level of bizarreness in WWE.

Rousey is making headlines right now thanks to a recent video that’s surfaced online from the UFC Hall of Famer’s video blog. The current Raw Women’s champion claims that her heel promo on the March 4 edition of Monday Night Raw was not a promo at all. Rousey said that it’s not an act, which means that she went off script. If that’s the case, then she’s gone into business for herself. But is that true?

“I’m tired of just being here to entertain people. I’m not taking any more direction, or notes, or orders and every time I go out there I’m going to do whatever the hell I want to do. They’re just going to have to keep filming and cashing the checks I’m bringing in. What else are they gonna do, not accept the money I’m making them?”

“Becky pissed me off recently. You know what — I’m not even gonna call her Becky. Rebecca Quinn talked **** about my husband, and I told her I’d beat the **** out of her the next time I saw her. And guess what — I beat the **** out of her, didn’t I?”

“The same venue where I fought Cat Zingano at home, they booed me out of the stadium. It was such a slap in the face. I’m just like, **** you people. **** all you guys. They can say it’s part of the act to save fact to everyone else, but it’s not an act. I’m going out there and I’m doing whatever the hell I want. **** them. Everybody, WWE Universe included. I meant that I’m going to disrespect the sport they love so much. ‘Oh don’t break kayfabe, Ronda!’ Wrestling’s scripted. It’s made up. It’s not real. None of those **** can **** touch me. The end.”

The fact is that WWE controls the majority of what happens on TV. While certain Superstars like John Cena, Roman Reigns and Randy Orton are surely given more freedom on the mic, that same courtesy is probably not extended to everyone.

Rousey is a big star of course, so it’s entirely possible that the company has allowed her to the opportunity to speak her mind and generate serious heat in the process.

Of course it’s also possible that this entire heel turn, video included, is all part of the show. Rousey has always been a pro wrestling fan, which means it’s unlikely that she would just turn her back on WWE and its fans. Recent speculation is that Rousey’s on her way out of WWE in 2019 and if that’s true, then this could be a step on the road to her exit.

Rousey is currently booked to defend the Raw Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 35. Becky Lynch will be added to that match if she defeats Flair at Fastlane on March 10.
