WWE Issues Statement Responding to Claims Made Regarding Banned Substances
As we noted earlier today, Dave Palumbo, retired bodybuilder and “Nutritionist” to Triple H, was a guest on the latest edition of “The Matt Riviera Show”, and during the appearance Palumbo had the following to say on Triple H’s workout regimen:
“[Triple H is] very disciplined. Eating, supplementation, he’s very meticulous. Joe DeFranco trains him every night, goes to his house. First of all, wrestlers can’t take drugs, beyond hormone replacements, they get drug tested. It’s a very, very strict drug testing policy there. The good thing about wrestling, because it’s not a professional sport per say, it’s more entertainment, they’re allowed to take hormone replacement…They can get testosterone replacement, 100mg…they can get HGH if they want, those are acceptable, and a lot of the wrestlers do do it.”

WWE has since issued the following statement to PW regarding the company’s Wellness Policy:
“WWE’s comprehensive Talent Wellness Policy, which is administered by an independent, third-party, clearly states hGH and hCG are among a long list of banned substances, however, due to certain medical conditions, there are a variety of therapeutic exemptions that account for approximately 7% of our contracted talent.”
