WWE Worlds Collide Results (4/17):Tyler Bate vs. Brian Kendrick, ACH Shines, Jordan Devlin and Akira Tozawa’s Main Event Battle

This cruiserweight edition was the second episode of Worlds Collide, pitting Superstars from the NXT, 205 Live and NXT UK brands against each other in a series of unique matches. 

TYLER BATE VS. BRIAN KENDRICK

This was a fun match from start to finish, as Bate and Kendrick had great chemistry together in the ring.They spent the majority of the bout taking their time and trying to feel each other out, before Kendrick finally took control over Bate.

Kendrick even tried to get a “USA” chant going at a couple of different points, though it was obvious to the crowd that Brian was the heel of the match. Tyler finally made his comeback, hitting the Bop Bang, bringing the match to a critical point. Tyler flipped Bate over for his Captain’s Hook submission move but Bate picked Brian up in an Airplane Spin.

The crowd chanted “big strong boy,” as Bate spun Kendrick around in the middle of the ring. but this ultimately did not help Tyler, as both men were too dizzy to continue and had to take a break. The match then went move for move, with each man trying to get on top.

Bate finally hit the Tyler Driver 97 for the win.

Next up was tag team action, featuring tandems from NXT UK and 205 Live.

MARK ANDREWS AND FLASH MORGAN WEBSTER VS. ARIYA DAIVARI AND MIKE KANELLIS

Webster and Andrews were out first, followed by Daivari and Kanellis. The crowd was fully in Mike’s corner, which led to Kanellis tagging in and out as a way to upset the fans. But the match eventually began with Daivari and Andrews in the middle of the ring.

The match was evenly fought, with Kanellis finally finding hialbert hs way in. He and Daivari controlled the tempo, cutting the ring in half and keeping Webster from tagging Andrews. The crowd finally made some noise in effort to get Webster moving and it eventually worked, as Flash tagged Andrews into the match.

Andrews was high octane on every front, showing his athleticism every step of the way. He and Webster hit some double team moves and it looked as though they were heading for a win, but Kanellis and Daivari made their own comeback. However, a miscue between Mike and Ariya led to Andrews hitting the Stundog Millionaire, followed by Webster hitting a Senton from the top. Kanellis took the pin in the end.

Next up was a Triple Threat Match, featuring stars from all three competing brands.

ALBERT HARDIE JR VS. LIGERO VS. GRAN METALIK

This was a high-paced battle, as fans knew it would be. However it did not begin that way, as Hardie, formerly known as ACH, took his time, as did his two opponents. Metalik and Ligero matched up extremely well together and the two men ran a few spots in the ring before Hardie finally found his rhythm.

But Hardie, who began to show some heel tendencies, took a sudden superkick to the face from Metalik, which led the Lucha House Party star to take control during the bout. But he did not maintain the advantage forever, as Ligero finally took his turn. He hit Hardie with the Tornado DDT to pick up the victory.

WINNER: LIGERO

The action did not stop here, as two of the most underrated talents in WWE today went to war in the main event!

AKIRA TOZAWA VS. JORDAN DEVLIN

Much like every match on the card, Tozawa and Devlin did not have to rush. The two men took their time, building the match move for move. The crowd was firmly in Akira’s corner, but Devlin took full control during this bout. Jordan was methodical in his movements and broke Tozawa down with one move after another.

Tozawa went through the ropes, leveling Jordan down on the floor. Akira then threw Devlin back in the ring and hit him with a flying dropkick off the top rope but Jordan kicked out. The advantage then went to Akira, who kept Jordan grounded on the mat.

But Jordan fought back and tried to hit Akira with a top rope move, though it did not connect. Akira tried to take advantage of Jordan’s mistake but he didn’t and in the end, The Irish Ace left with the win.

WINNER: JORDAN DEVLIN
